Product Training Specialist and Video Content Developer

Join ECHO as our next Product Training Specialist & Video Content Developer ! In this dynamic role, you will design and deliver engaging training programs focused on ECHO's innovative lineup of 2-stroke, 4-stroke, and battery-powered outdoor power equipment. Training content will support ECHO employees, distributors, and dealers across North and South America through both in-person instruction and online learning platforms.

In addition to facilitating technical training, you will create high-quality video training content using video production, editing, animation, and multimedia tools to enhance the learning experience and support product education initiatives.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 based on experience and qualifications.

This is a hybrid position that will offer the flexibility of working from home and on-site at our Lake Zurich facility.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Design & Deliver Training Programs

• Create and present technical training programs covering product applications, features, benefits, maintenance, troubleshooting, and competitive comparisons across the ECHO and Shindaiwa product portfolio.
• Deliver training to:
  • ECHO employees
  • Distributors
  • Dealers
  • End users and customers
• Develop new product training materials to support product launches and ongoing education initiatives.

Support Industry Events & Dealer Education

• Assist in planning, organizing, and executing the annual North and South American Service Managers Conference.
• Provide distributors and dealers with the tools, materials, and programs needed to effectively train their teams.

Create Engaging Video Content

• Produce technical training videos independently or in partnership with subject matter experts.
• Develop visual content using video production, animation, photography, and multimedia editing techniques to enhance technical learning programs.

Collaborate Across Teams

• Partner with ECHO Inc., YBK, and engineering teams to stay informed on new product technologies and incorporate technical updates into training materials.
• Support national retail service networks with technical training programs and resources.

Expand Online Learning

• Build and manage e-learning courses within ECHO Academy.
• Maintain a comprehensive library of training resources, including videos, presentations, and reference materials.

Drive Learning Innovation

• Evaluate and implement modern instructional approaches and technologies, including:
  • Interactive learning content
  • Microlearning
  • Virtual instructor-led training
  • Simulation-based learning
  • Artificial intelligence tools
  • Learning management systems
  • Advanced video and animation solutions

Foster Team Collaboration

• Contribute positively in a collaborative team environment and embrace constructive feedback for continuous improvement.

Job Experience/Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical service, engineering, training, or a related environment.
• Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training programs.
• Strong technical problem-solving abilities and a proactive, positive attitude.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to engage audiences at all organizational levels.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of hand-held outdoor power equipment, air-cooled 2-stroke engines, or DC electrical motors is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and PowerPoint.
• Experience creating business-related video content, including filming, editing, and production.
• Working knowledge of multimedia software such as:
  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.
• Experience with Articulate 360 or similar e-learning development tools is preferred.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
• Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Travel:

Ability to travel up to 25%.
