Category Manager

Responsible for developing and implementing category strategies across both direct and indirect spends for the Americas region; direct categories including Seals, Plastics, Rubber, and Tolling Services as well as indirect categories including Logistics, Warehousing, and Customs Brokerage Services; lead strategic sourcing projects with cross-functional teams, manage supplier performance, and identify opportunities for end-to-end efficiencies and cost reduction. Requires Bachelor's degree in International Business or Business Administration with an emphasis or specialty in International Business and two years of experience in job offered or as Transport Coordinator and/or Transport and Customs Expert. Background in education, training or experience must include proven expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier negotiation for both direct and indirect categories; strong analytical and financial skills, including budget ownership, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis, cost modeling, and benchmarking; demonstrated experience leading Request for Quotations (RFQs), tenders, and supplier performance programs across multiple business units; excellent communication, stakeholder management, and multicultural collaboration skills; hands on experience managing direct categories including Seals, Plastics, Rubber, and Tolling Services, including supplier selection, performance, and cost optimization; demonstrated responsibility over indirect categories including Logistics, Warehousing, and Customs Brokerage Services; experience managing global transportation budgets and ensuring alignment between global and regional sourcing initiatives; proven ability to act as commercial owner of supplier relationships, leading business reviews, performance evaluations, and long-term partnership strategies; experience in multimodal transportation management (ocean, air, LTL, parcel, truckload) and cross-border flows between Mexico, the U.S., and Canada; proven ability to conduct fact-based negotiations and apply TCO methodologies in global supplier contracting; advanced proficiency in Power BI for data visualization, spend analysis, and development of interactive dashboards for category performance management; proficiency with Snowflake for advanced analytics and data integration; familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems and continuous-improvement frameworks; experience integrating Transportation Management Systems (TMS); strong knowledge of international trade and customs regulations in Mexico, the United States, and Canada, including classification of goods under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and interpretation of tariffs, duties, and trade agreements (USMCA/T-MEC/CUSMA); must have proficient computer skills, including strong experience in Excel, Illuminate, and Mariner. 20% domestic and international travel.
