Position : S4 Hana ABAP Lead Location : Indianapolis, IN (Remote) Job Description Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
Seeking highly experienced SAP ABAP Technical Lead with 12+ Years experience to support the S/4HANA system. This is a lead role responsible for overseeing custom ABAP development, system migrations, and day-to-day production support within an S/4HANA environment. He will serve as the primary escalation point for complex incidents, ensuring 24/7 operational stability while enforcing "clean core" development standards for seamless S/4HANA system upgrades and Patches. • Core ABAP: Advanced proficiency in Object-Oriented ABAP, ABAP on HANA, and modern ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
• Data Models: Deep understanding of Core Data Services (CDS) views, AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures), and access control.
• UI/UX: Hands-on knowledge of SAP UI5, Fiori Elements, and SAP Gateway configuration.
• Integration Technologies: Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs, ALE/IDoc, and BAPIs.
• Methodologies & Tools: Strong grasp of Agile development, ITIL service management practices, and Solution Manager / Cloud ALM Roles & Responsibilities • Production Support & Incident Management: Own the resolution of high-priority tickets, root cause analysis (RCA), and bug fixes while meeting strict SLA requirement.
• Clean Core & Extensibility: Govern custom development (RICEFW objects), transitioning legacy code to SAP S/4HANA side-by-side or on-stack cloud extensibility (BTP) to minimize technical debt
• Modern UI & Integration: Oversee the development of SAP Fiori apps, OData services, CDS Views, and API/IDoc integrations with third-party
• Code Quality & Governance: Conduct architectural assessments and technical code reviews using tools like ATC, ensuring adherence to SAP best practices
• Team Leadership: Mentor offshore developers, assign support packages, and coordinate with functional business analysts to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Ability to collaborate with clients to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and design effective solutions that align with industry best practices.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as trusted advisor and point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Focus on staying current with industry trends, SAP updates, and best practices to provide innovative solutions to clients.
• Support SAP upgrades, enhancement pack upgrades, patching support, and S/4HANA conversion activities.
• Work on SPAU and SPDD adjustment activities during upgrade projects.
• Support team able to resolve technical or business process defects/deficiencies as needed.
• Keep updated with new SAP releases, patches, and upgrades to enhance system functionality and performance .
