Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Weekend shifts assigned according to unit staffing needs. Float pool position requiring flexibility to work across multiple units within the hospital system.

• Progressive Care Unit/Step-Down environment with 1:3 patient ratios on all shifts
• Epic charting system experience required

• 36 hours of orientation provided to ensure successful transition
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
• First-time travelers welcome; candidates with one year of experience will be individually reviewed

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down nursing experience
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Proficiency in IV starts and cardiac telemetry monitoring
• Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Skills in arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, central line care, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management, vasoactive drip management, and wound care preferred
• Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
