Epic Analyst (Hospital Billing)

Epic Analyst – Hospital Billing Certified Epic Analyst must be certified in Hospital Billing and have extensive knowledge of Slicer Dicer, statements, charge router, BCB, and the full breadth of HB WQ's, workflows and functions. The analyst will cover support duties, assist with upgrades, testing, ticket resolution, and maintenance while coordinating with FTEs, operations, and other applications. Charge Router certification is preferable. Interview end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors to assess business and clinical needs; create business, functional and technical requirements documents. Convert gathered information into details including data sources, user types, interface components, navigation needs, reporting needs, and administrative system needs. Define external interfaces, constraints, quality issues, and other non‑functional requirements. Provide the project management team with identified risks, concerns, and ambiguities; assist in developing solutions. Partner with project managers to complete requirements documentation according to schedule. Plan, organize, facilitate, and lead meetings and workgroups and oversee follow‑up activities. Ensure the software development team incorporates all defined requirements and that quality standards comply with internal policies and industry standards. Document changes to baseline requirements through a standard change control process. Document software test plans, technical requirements, release notes, user and training guidelines, and other materials. Plan, coordinate, and support unit acceptance testing and subsequent deployments with other team leaders. Perform end user and application support functions, solving and resolving application function defects. Develop and execute project presentations. Participate in special projects as required. Provide training to and mentor junior clinical business analysts and other project team members; evaluate work products for assigned team members. Lead the training, development, and implementation of process improvements for all projects and applications. Identify opportunities for process improvements, provide analysis, propose change, and communicate strategies. Supervise and direct junior clinical business analysts and other team members. Interview junior and senior clinical business analysts, consultants, and other project team members. Due to the responsibilities, the position may require work beyond regularly scheduled hours. The role is approximately 80% remote and up to 20% on‑site. The selected candidate must be able to come into the office within 48 hours if required. Preferred Qualifications Certification(s)/NYSS License(s): Specialty certification issued by a nationally recognized program, state, professional society, academic or technical institution in an area listed above; credited toward required work experience for one year. Epic Certification. Clinical background (preferred). At least two full life‑cycle implementations (preferred). Educational Level A Master’s Degree or advanced clinical degree with two years of experience leading requirement definition and management for internal and external clinical software, or one year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role. A Baccalaureate Degree with five years of experience as described above. A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
