We are seeking research assistants (wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter) and trainee lawyers (Referendare) (m/f/d) to join our corporate/M&A practices’ Japan team at our offices across Germany. Gleiss Lutz has advised on a large number of transactions involving Japanese parties in recent years and has established a strong reputation as a leading law firm for Japanese investors in Germany. Recent highlights include: Daicel Corporation on its sale of Lomapharm SBI Group on its investment in fintech firm Pliant BayWa on financing a solar park in Japan Canon on gun‑jumping proceedings before the European Commission and the European General Court Nippon Investment Company on its acquisition of Pieroth Japan AEON on the IPO of Signa Sports United by way of a de‑SPAC transaction NEC on its acquisition of Avaloq Group AG Your role You’ll work closely with our lawyers and assist on ongoing client work. You’ll assist on the advice provided to our Japanese clients on M&A transactions, corporate law, competition/antitrust and other areas of law. You can start at any time – during your university studies, your doctorate, or while completing your practical legal training.
