National Sales Specialist

OEO is a commercial and industrial LED lighting company based in Lake Zurich, IL. We specialize in lighting retrofits and energy efficiency solutions for businesses - helping them cut energy costs, improve their spaces, and make a smarter investment in their infrastructure. Our product lineup covers a wide range of indoor and outdoor commercial and industrial applications, from warehouse and manufacturing facilities to parking lots and office buildings. Your contributions are visible, your ideas are heard, and your success is shared. The Role We're looking for a driven, resourceful self-starter to help grow the OEO business. This isn't a script-and-dial role. We want someone who thinks creatively, takes ownership, and takes pride in matching customers with solutions that meet their specific needs. You don't need to walk in knowing everything about LED retrofits - we'll teach you that. What we can't teach is hustle, curiosity, initiative, and the instinct to find a way. In a small business like ours, titles are flexible. You'll be hired in sales, but you'll also contribute ideas, weigh in on strategy, and help shape how we grow. What You’ll Do Your days will be a blend of inside and outside sales - and you’ll have some creative latitude to shape your approach. You’ll drive business through multiple channels, including sales direct to end users, contractor sales, national accounts development, our growing sports lighting vertical, utility bill audit services, and whatever other creative outlets you can dream up. Here’s what that looks like day to day: Outside Sales Identify and target potential OEO customers Build strategic prospect lists and canvass markets Email, call, and write old-fashioned letters Represent us at trade shows and industry events Follow up on inbound leads and inquiries Re-engage past prospects and dormant accounts Work the phones and email with intention Build and execute targeted email campaigns What We’re Looking For A self-starter who’s comfortable making the first move Highly organized and detail-oriented - someone who can juggle multiple priorities Strong communicator - on the phone, over email, and in person Comfortable and effective operating in a small team environment where collaboration and adaptability matter Prior experience in sales and business development is preferred[1.1]. Demonstrate how you met (or exceeded) previous sales quotas. Background in commercial or industrial sales is a plus - but aptitude and resourcefulness matter more to us than a specific resume Familiarity with commercial or industrial lighting (indoor/outdoor) is nice to have, not required - we’ll get you up to speed Someone who takes “no” as useful data, not a dead end Someone who sees their success as inseparable from the team’s success Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required - you’ll use these every day Comfortable navigating CRM tools and sales platforms Experience with digital marketing tools - email platforms, social media, campaign management, etc. - is a definite plus Who You’ll Work With You’ll work directly with the existing sales and marketing team and collaborate closely with the owners.
