Emergency Department RN – Emergency Nursing

Schedule: 12-hour shifts

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36/40/48 per week

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience required (1.5 years may be considered).
• Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience preferred.
• Travel experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers may be considered with 2+ years of Level I experience.
• TNCC certification must be completed prior to submission.
• Current NM license may be pending at time of submission.
• Required certifications: TNCC (prior to submission), ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIH (NIH certification may pend until compliance document due date).
• Key clinical skills: trauma/resuscitation, triage, IV/central/arterial line care, ventilator care, IV vasopressors, blood product administration, procedural sedation monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, medication administration/documentation.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Conduct triage assessments and prioritize patient care based on clinical urgency.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient information and interventions in the electronic medical record.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions and care plans.

Compliance / Notes:

• Compliance documents due date typically 10 days prior to start; begin compliance within 1–2 weeks of signing.
• Drug screen required within 30 days of start.
• Maximum of 7 days off preferred; more than 7 days requires approval. No time off during first 7 days or final day of contract.
• No local clinicians within 100-mile radius.
• Break rule: 6-month break required after 4 consecutive assignments or reaching 1 year.
• COVID-19 vaccination not required; flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only).
• Overtime requires prior approval from the client.
