Credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days
7am-7pm onsite with 7pm-7am overnight call from home (offsite)
Tuesday-Monday coverage
Weekend coverage required Requirements
Board Certified in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship
Georgia State License
Clean file; no previous malpractice claims
ACLS
Georgia DEA
Provider must be aware and available to start coverage in January 2027 Required Procedures / Skills
Tracheal intubation
Central lines
Chest tubes
Arterial lines
Dialysis catheter placement
Thoracentesis
Lumbar puncture
Conscious sedation
Bronchoscopy Assignment Details
Hospital setting
Day shift coverage in an 8-bed ICU
Pulmonary consults during day shift
Duties include admissions, cross coverage, and pulmonary consults
Days per month: 30
EMR: Epic
Support staff includes in-house hospitalists, ER physicians, respiratory therapy, and ICU nursing
Admissions per day: 4-5
Patients per day: 10
Adult med/surg cases - No OB, pediatrics, trauma
Average callback volume is rare, with most issues handled by phone
Estimated 2-5 calls during the 12-hour call period
Critical cases are transferred to a sister site, with locum responsible for phone consults as needed
