Assistant Director of Financial Aid

Job Summary The Assistant Director of Financial Aid plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional financial aid services to students and their families. This position is integral to maintaining compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations while fostering a supportive and informative environment for students navigating the complexities of financial aid. The role requires a proactive leader who can effectively manage daily operations, support departmental goals, and contribute to the strategic objectives of the Financial Aid Department. This position offers a dynamic work environment where collaboration with cross‑functional teams is essential. The Assistant Director of Financial Aid will have the opportunity to directly impact student success by guiding them through financial aid processes, ensuring timely disbursements, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, this role provides growth opportunities through leadership responsibilities, including team management, training, and departmental representation in the absence of the Director of Financial Aid. Responsibilities Opportunity to lead and manage financial aid operations in a compliance‑driven environment Collaborative work environment with Admissions and other departments Direct impact on student success through financial aid guidance and support Leadership growth opportunities, including team training and departmental oversight Engagement in strategic planning and reporting to support organizational goals Meet with prospective and current students and their families to determine financial aid eligibility and provide guidance on financial aid applications and documents Assist students in completing FAFSAs by providing clarifying information and examples Review ISIRs to identify verification or C code requirements and facilitate resolution through documentation collection and reconciliation Conduct Entrance and Exit counseling sessions with students within 30 days of their last attendance date Collaborate with the Admissions Department to ensure outstanding customer service for students and families Collect and process documentation to ensure timely and compliant financial aid funding Create and present student budgets, package financial aid awards, and monitor aid disbursements to ensure timely crediting to student accounts Maintain accurate and compliant financial aid files in adherence to federal, state, and accreditation requirements Prepare and submit weekly financial aid reports and provide daily updates to the Director of Financial Aid Respond promptly and accurately to student inquiries and concerns, ensuring excellent customer service Monitor daily activities to ensure compliance with departmental policies and external regulations Manage on‑campus events, such as orientation and open houses, ensuring proper representation by the Financial Aid Department Support the Director of Financial Aid in managing the team, including training, coaching, and performance evaluations Assist in leading weekly team trainings and planning team‑building activities Contribute to the hiring, onboarding, and training of Financial Aid Department staff Lead the Financial Aid Department in the absence of the Director of Financial Aid Draft and finalize informational reports for submission to the Corporate Office Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental objectives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred; or a combination of education and relevant experience Minimum of 3–4.5 years of experience in financial aid within a post‑secondary institution Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations impacting Title IV funding Basic knowledge of CampusVue database (preferred) Benefits Medical Dental Vision Voluntary Life (Employee, Spouse, Child) Employer‑Paid Life Insurance Short‑Term Disability (STD) Long‑Term Disability (LTD) Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA/LFSA) Health Savings Account (HSA) HSA Employer Contribution Critical Illness Hospital Indemnity Accident Insurance 401(k) 401(k) Employer Match Paid Holidays Floating Holiday Mental Health Day Referral Bonus Program Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) Location Houston Northwest Campus 12230 Northwest Fwy, Houston NW, TX 77092 Why Choose CHCP Educational Excellence – Join a premier healthcare education institution focused on preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals Modern Facilities – Teach with state‑of‑the‑art equipment and advanced learning technologies Collaborative Environment – Work with experienced educators and healthcare professionals committed to student success Professional Development – Access ongoing training, mentorship, and career advancement opportunities in healthcare education Student‑Centered Approach – Work in an environment where student success and career readiness are our top priorities Work‑Life Balance – Enjoy a supportive schedule designed for both professional fulfillment and personal well‑being #J-18808-Ljbffr
