GL Accountant III

SUMMARY

General Ledger Accountant III is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records by performing complex account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. This role works closely with multiple operating entities and joint ventures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate has extensive general ledger accounting experience, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting reporting deadlines. This position also supports internal and external audits, researches and resolves accounting discrepancies, and collaborates across departments to maintain compliance with company policies and financial reporting requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with multiple operating entities and joint ventures. Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations, roll-forwards, and research and reconcile discrepancies. Responsible for general ledger and subledger reconciliations with explanations. Prepare complex account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP. Prepare intercompany journal entries and reconciliation. Ensure timely and accurate processing of reconciliations in accordance with reporting deadlines. Ability to identify areas of issue and provide resolution. Provide support for internal and external Audit requests. Other Duties as assigned. Continually required to sit. QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of 10+ years general ledger experience in accounting preferred. Public accounting experience a plus. Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines. Adherence to policies, procedures, and instructions of GL Manager. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Access, Outlook. Experience in Costpoint a plus. Experience in multi-site/state operations is strongly desired. Knowledge of federal contracting preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Ability to function as a team player.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA or other accounting designation a plus.
