Work Environment\n

This role is designed to be remote, offering flexibility and the ability to create a work-life balance conducive to your personal needs. Although primarily remote, it is essential for our counselors to maintain a strong presence in the community and engage with healthcare teams in our Geriatric Care Clinic, ensuring seamless collaboration in client care. Regular hours are maintained from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, providing a predictable schedule for both clients and counselors.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to understand the specific challenges and care needs of elderly residents.

• Deliver tailored individual and group counseling sessions focused on issues such as coping with grief and navigating life transitions.

• Develop and implement comprehensive care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, utilizing effective communication techniques.

• Educate family members and staff on strategies to enrich the emotional well-being and quality of life for seniors.

• Facilitate counseling sessions related to grief and loss, helping residents and their families address end-of-life concerns.

• Introduce cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions aimed at enhancing cognitive function and mental agility among elderly individuals.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on elderly clients experiencing a variety of age-related mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders due to significant life changes. Our clients often require specialized interventions that acknowledge their unique life experiences and cultural backgrounds, ensuring that you provide a holistic approach to mental health care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in the state of Massachusetts.

• At least four years of relevant experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, you will be eligible for a sign-on bonus to enhance your start with our organization.
