Make a difference in students’ lives as a Mental Health Specialist working with general education students, primarily focusing on counseling within a supportive and collaborative school environment. This contract opportunity, situated near Grand Blanc, MI, offers the chance to shape positive outcomes for high schoolers while utilizing your clinical expertise and documentation skills.

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree required—bachelor’s degrees are not accepted for this role
• Current, valid Michigan LARA license required according to professional guidelines for psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, or licensed professional counselors (including limited licenses with appropriate supervision)
• Consideration also given to candidates with the following credentials: School Counselor License, MDE credential for school psychology or counseling, Michigan Teaching Certificate with School Counselor (NT) endorsement, Preliminary or Temporary School Counselor Credentials (with commitment to pursue required licensure)
• Proficiency with SOAP notes, electronic documentation, and Google Suite
• Experience providing counseling and emotional support to general education populations in a school setting

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individual and group counseling for general education students at the high school level
• Maintain thorough and timely electronic documentation for all interventions using SOAP notes
• Collaborate with instructional and support staff to design and implement positive behavior programs
• Offer professional learning and targeted support to classrooms and school buildings as needed
• Foster supportive relationships that promote students' social-emotional growth and school engagement
