Lecturer Pool - Modern Language Studies AY 2026/27 Position: Lecturer Academic Year: 2026/2027 College: College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences Department: Modern Language Studies The Department of Modern Language Studies at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an on-going basis for a pool of part-time lecturers. Salary is commensurate with credential and experience. Applicant pools are used to fill short‑term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as‑needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool ad are valid only for the current academic year. This pool will be closed effective May 31, 2027. Minimum Qualifications A master’s degree in Spanish, French, or German Work in the state of California is a condition of employment per the California State University’s Out‑of‑State Employment Policy Preferred Qualifications ABD or doctorate degree in the language of instruction Experience teaching at the college/university level Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community as it relates to teaching and to service (when applicable) Salary Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full‑time month CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A – AY: $5,507 – $6,677 per full‑time month CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B – AY: $6,221 – $13,224 per full‑time month Application Completed faculty application Curriculum Vitae (uploaded) Contact information for three current references Letter of interest (uploaded) Applications are accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the 2026/27 academic year.
