Consultant, Internal Audit - Property & Casualty

Job Overview As a team member in Internal Audit at Nationwide, a Fortune 100 company with nearly $70 billion in annual sales, you will manage full‑scale audits on the Property & Casualty team. You will focus on audits pertaining to Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, Excess & Surplus/Specialty, and Agribusiness, performing both assurance and advisory engagements across governance, compliance, and information technology platforms. Key Responsibilities Plan, execute, and close projects within defined scope, time, and budget, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects concurrently. Lead engagements from planning to completion, applying auditing techniques and professional standards. Identify key risks and controls in the engagement plan, coordinate and review work performed by engagement staff, and summarize issues, recommendations, and conclusions in the engagement report. Perform engagement tasks of the highest complexity and use analytics and data visualization tools for full‑population testing. Manage engagement teams of approximately one to ten associates and provide real‑time coaching and feedback on soft and technical audit skills. Drive ongoing risk assessments to inform the risk‑based audit plan and develop relationships across the enterprise as a trusted business advisor to clients and internal risk partners. Contribute to initiatives and act as a change agent driving the unit to be more agile and innovative. Typical Skills and Experiences Bachelor’s degree in business, technical, or related field (advanced degree preferred). More than six years of experience in audit, risk management, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, or PMP desired. Strong knowledge of audit, business, and information technology concepts and theory. Operational knowledge of audit practices across multiple functional areas and experience applying project management and motivational theory. Applied knowledge in assessing risk, critical thinking, and decision‑making skills for problem solving and solution recommendation. Effective verbal and written communication skills, plus collaboration and teamwork abilities. Strong organizational and leadership skills to prioritize tasks and execute audit objectives timely. Job Conditions Overtime Eligibility: Not Eligible (Exempt). Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Location: Columbus, Ohio or Scottsdale, Arizona; required to work in the office two days per week. Compensation: Salary range $97,000 – $180,000.
