This hands-on role is essential to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and efficient work environment for our team. You'll leverage your mechanical expertise to troubleshoot complex issues, perform preventive maintenance, and execute repairs across HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Your work directly impacts our facility's operational excellence and support Cardinal Health's commitment to delivering world-class property management services.Responsibilities:Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment including, not limited to conveyors, HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handler units, & split systems.Perform light electrical, plumbing repairs, installations, and system maintenance throughout the facilityExecute pipefitting work, pipe running, pump repairs, and motor maintenance as neededConduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all mechanical building systems with proper documentationTrack and store department inventoryWorking conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfacesPromote a safe working environment by following Cardinal Health's safety proceduresRepetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walkingDexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals) manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)Move up to 50lbs as well as stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hoursTest and maintain backflow prevention devices to ensure compliance and system integrityComplete carpentry work and general building maintenance tasks to support facility operationsRespond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situationsQualifications:4+ years of experience, preferredHigh School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferredExperience in PC competency to include: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook preferredDemonstrated working knowledge with conveyors, HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, and air handlers preferredAdvanced proficiency in plumbing systems, repairs, and installations preferredValid driver's license preferredStrong technical knowledge of pipefitting, pumps, motors, and mechanical systems preferredWhat is expected of you and others at this level:Applies extensive knowledge and company policies to complete a wide range of assignmentsDemonstrates expert understanding of all levels of the job family and has thorough knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibilityTakes the lead in effectively applying new processes and skills in accomplishing assignmentsMay provide technical guidance and training to othersMaintains appropriate licenses, training and certificationsWorks on complex problems that require independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issueMakes recommendation for new or revised processes and has a role on the implementationAdheres to all quality guidelinesWorks with minimal degree of supervisionHas latitude to make decisions in exceptional circumstances within established guidelinesProvides guidance to less experienced team membersMay have team leader responsibilities but does not formally superviseCandidates who are back-to-work, people with disabilities, without a college degree, and Veterans are encouraged to apply.Cardinal Health supports an inclusive workplace that values diversity of thought, experience and background.
