We are seeking an experienced, highly analytical, and business‑minded Senior Financial Analyst to support strategic decision‑making across our retail business. This role will partner closely with cross‑functional teams including merchandising, operations, and leadership to drive financial planning, profitability analysis, product costing insights, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate brings strong financial modeling capabilities, retail acumen, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations. Essential Job Functions The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation. Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with emphasis on company interests Identify reporting needs and manage creation of complex management reports Key Responsibilities Lead financial planning processes including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long‑range planning for a business unit/category Analyze cost of goods sold, sales, margins, inventory, and promotional performance to provide actionable insights Own product costing analysis, including tracking changes in cost of goods sold (COGS), vendor pricing, and landed costs Partner with merchandising and operations teams to evaluate pricing strategies, assortment decisions, and vendor funding opportunities Monitor key retail KPIs such as comparable sales, gross margin, inventory turns, and sell‑through Develop and maintain financial models to support business initiatives, new store openings, and category performance Conduct variance analysis vs. plan, forecast, and prior year; clearly communicate drivers and risks Support month‑end close process, including accruals, reporting, and reconciliations Create and present executive‑level reporting and dashboards Identify process improvement opportunities and drive automation in reporting and forecasting Provide ad hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives and senior leadership decisions Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred) 4–7+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in retail, consumer goods, or e‑commerce Strong understanding of retail financial metrics (margin, markdowns, inventory productivity, etc.) Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas); experience with financial systems and BI tools (Looker, Power BI) Experience working with large datasets and translating data into insights Strong business partnering and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Preferred Skills Experience with merchandising finance or category finance Familiarity with retail systems (MicroStrategy, Oracle, Bamboo Rose) SQL or data analytics experience is a plus Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act. The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state‑specific regulations. These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. Actual pay rates will depend on factors such as position, location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied. Salary Range: $88,800.00 - $133,200.00 Hourly or Salary Range will be reflected above.
