Human Resources Assistant (Classification)

Help
Performs classification reviews by gathering information through audits with incumbents, discussions with supervisors, and reviewing classification standards and organization charts.
Classifies all general schedule and federal wage system positions, grades 01 through 07.
Classifies and maintains files for all position descriptions for summer hires, student aids and co-ops.
Analyzes duties, applies classification standards, and writes evaluation statements to justify title, series and grade.
Reviews all incoming OPM standards and determines the jobs to be affected and provides listing of those to the specialists.
Answers general questions from supervisors and employees regarding procedures for classifying positions and filing appeals.
Inputs data into the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) and Fully Automated System for Classification (FASCLASS).
Uses personnel computer, word processing and/or other office automation equipment and various software programs.
