Chief Anesthesiologist

North American Partners in Anesthesia is seeking a Chief Anesthesiologist to join UPMC Hanover. This role involves diverse case assignments including orthopedics, general surgery, urology, endoscopy, ENT, and ophthalmology, with limited pediatric cases and no cardiac or neuro cases. The successful candidate will be part of a Joint Commission-accredited facility, which is also a Certified Primary Stroke Center and a Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Compensation

• Salary: $500,000 annually
• Chief Bonus: $45,000
• Sign-on bonus: $50,000 sign on bonus

Requirements

• M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
• ECFMC and FLEX
• Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
• Currently licensed as a physician
