Messaging Services Senior Specialist-M365 Administrator

The M365 Administrator will be responsible for the overall administration, support, and maintenance of the Microsoft 365 environment. This role requires a deep understanding of M365 services, including Exchange Online, Exchange On-Premises & Hybrid servers, Microsoft Purview, Defender for O365 and MS-Teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capability to manage and optimize the use of M365 solutions to meet business needs

Technical Skills-

• Provide maintenance, support and troubleshooting activities on server-side configurations and integration in support of high-availability, server roles, Exchange online, Hybrid environment, mail-flow/transport services, Client access/webmail, security & compliance and email protection. • Health checks, server capacity management and proactive configuration management support of SharePoint services
• In-depth knowledge of SharePoint Online architecture, site collection administration, permissions models, and Microsoft 365 ecosystem
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture, processes, and service levels
• Manage site collection administration, permissions, content types, lists, libraries, workflows, and templates. Configure advanced features such as hub sites, managed metadata, search optimization, and retention policies.
• Administration and Support: Manage and maintain the Microsoft 365 services, providing day-to-day support and administration of M365 services.
• Implementation and Configuration: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot M365 services, including Exchange Online, Exchange On-Premises servers and Microsoft Teams.
• Staying updated with the latest trends and developments in the Microsoft 365 platform and adopting the best practices and recommendations.
• Setting up archiving, retention policies, journal rules, and conducting eDiscovery for legal holds
• Responsible for the overall health, configuration, security, and strategic management of the Teams environment, handling complex incidents and escalation.
• Manage the entire Microsoft Teams Admin Center, including org-wide settings, federation, and team upgrade policies
• Control guest access, external access, and manage security/compliance policies within Teams.
• Configuring anti-spam, anti-malware, and anti-phishing policies to secure email.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor system performance and usage to ensure optimal performance and availability. Generate reports on system usage, security, and compliance.
• Responsible for providing end-user support for Microsoft 365 mailbox administration and recipient management, including mailbox provisioning, permission updates, distribution group and shared mailbox management, and related configuration changes
• Responsible for providing platform-level administration and operational support for Microsoft 365 Apps, including Viva Engage, the Viva Suite, and other approved Microsoft 365 collaboration and productivity applications
• Responsibilities include user access support, configuration assistance, policy and settings administration, service health monitoring, usage and activity reporting, incident troubleshooting, and fulfillment of service requests related to supported M365 apps
• Security and Compliance: Implement and manage security settings and policies to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. DLP engineering and administration. Handle security incidents and perform regular security audits
• Support and troubleshooting client/server environments, server Health check, PowerShell commands/scripts, bulk reports, monitoring parameters, backups etc. 
• Server maintenance/upgrades-Patching, RU/CU’s, security updates, server installation/deployment, configuring components and software integration. 
• Knowledge of ITSM tools/platform to perform Request, Incident, Change and problem management. Service management and service level management
• Steady state support to the messaging infrastructure, handling on-call responsibilities, complex issues, escalations, server maintenance activities etc.
• Interact with Microsoft support to resolve tenant-level issues or service outages

Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.• 8+ years of experience in administration and support of M365 workloads.
• Strong knowledge and skills in M365 services and features, such as Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and Security and Compliance.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Certification in M365 or Azure is a plus.
