The Medical Front Desk Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth daily operations in a busy medical office with a medium-sized team of 7 members. This position involves managing patient appointments, verifying insurance details, and providing exceptional customer service to a high volume of patients, typically 50 or more each day. The receptionist will utilize commercial electronic medical/health records (EMR/EHR) software to support efficient scheduling and record-keeping.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments using commercial EHR software
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes
- Handle incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain patient records
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service
- Communicate effectively with team members and patients
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 year experience in medical reception
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical/health records (EMR/EHR)
- Strong data entry and multitasking skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Experience using scheduling software
- Problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with QuickBooks a plus
