What You'll Do Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40-hour per week schedule. Rotating Saturday requirement and one evening shift requirement per week. Clinic Hours Monday-Thursday 8:00am-8:00pm Friday 8:00am-5:00pm Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm Closed all major holidays and Sunday. As a Medical Assistant, you'll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day. Welcome patients and support their transition into care. Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings. Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures. Administer medications and vaccines as directed. Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing. Document care accurately in the electronic health record. Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care. About This Location: Advocate Children's Hospital - Park Ridge - 1675 Dempster St Advocate Medical Group Yacktman Pediatrics , affiliated with Lutheran General Hospital, is one of the largest pediatric primary care clinics. We are a residency clinic with 60 residents rotating between inpatient and outpatient settings, along with 10 physicians and 2 APNs. Our clinic provides routine physicals, newborn and well-childcare, sick visits, chronic disease management, and more. Your feedback matters. Physical Requirements And Working Conditions Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions. Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines. Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed. May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
