Inpatient Cardiology Hospitalist Opportunity Available in Baltimore, MD

Focus on Inpatient Cardiology | 7 Days On / 7 Days Off | Support from APPs | No Outpatient Clinic Duties

Our network features leading cardiology experts who are skilled in diagnosing and treating a wide range of heart conditions. We have 30 employed and affiliated cardiologists, with 22 of them part of our medical group, specializing in General Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Invasive Diagnostic Cardiology.

We offer a comprehensive range of advanced cardiac care services, including high-risk PCI, TAVR, right- and left-sided EP ablations, and extensive surgical options in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic care.

The Inpatient Cardiology Hospitalist will primarily work at Sinai Hospital, engaging in a thorough cardiovascular program and collaborating with cardiologists, experienced APPs, cardiac surgeons, intensivists, hospitalists, and multidisciplinary teams.

Job Overview

Full-time Inpatient Cardiology Hospitalist

• 7 days on / 7 days off schedule

• Main practice location at Sinai Hospital

• Exclusive focus on inpatient cardiovascular care

• Conduct inpatient cardiology consultations and manage hospitalized cardiovascular patients

• Daily rounding and ongoing management of complex cardiac cases

• Collaborate closely with cardiology APPs and subspecialty cardiologists

• Work alongside Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Structural Heart, Heart Failure, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Critical Care, Hospital Medicine, and other specialty services

• Engage in multidisciplinary care coordination, quality improvement, and initiatives aimed at enhancing cardiovascular outcomes

• Opportunity to participate in medical education and clinical teaching

• Strong APP support and a collaborative practice environment

• No routine outpatient clinic responsibilities, allowing for a dedicated focus on inpatient cardiology

Clinical Responsibilities

The Inpatient Cardiology Hospitalist will deliver comprehensive cardiovascular care for patients during their hospital stay, including:

• Conducting inpatient cardiology consultations

• Managing patients with acute and complex cardiovascular issues

• Providing daily cardiovascular assessments and treatment recommendations

• Overseeing patients with acute decompensated heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, arrhythmias, valvular disease, cardiomyopathies, and other cardiovascular conditions

• Coordinating care with procedural and subspecialty cardiology teams

• Partnering with APPs to ensure timely and effective inpatient cardiovascular care

• Facilitating smooth transitions of care and communication with outpatient cardiologists and primary care providers

• Participating in multidisciplinary rounds and care coordination

• Supporting initiatives focused on quality, patient safety, length of stay, readmission reduction, and patient experience

• Providing education and mentorship to APPs, residents, medical students, nurses, and other healthcare team members

Qualifications

• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease

• Possession of a Maryland medical license or eligibility for licensure

• Eligibility for hospital privileges at Sinai Hospital

• Strong clinical skills in managing hospitalized cardiovascular patients

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

• Preferred experience or training in echocardiography, including TEE, and interpretation of nuclear cardiology studies

• New graduates and seasoned cardiologists are encouraged to apply

Compensation: This position offers a competitive guaranteed base salary ranging from $400,000 to $600,000, depending on specialty, board certification, experience, and other relevant factors. Additional wRVU and quality incentive opportunities are also available.
