Accounts Payable Specialist

Join a high-volume shared services accounting team supporting 44 locations nationwide. This role is responsible for full-cycle accounts payable, auditing vendor payments, processing invoices, resolving discrepancies, and supporting month-end and quarter-end close activities in a fast-paced environment. Initial training is 100% onsite, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule afterward.

Process high-volume accounts payable transactions (approximately 800+ invoices per week).

Perform full-cycle accounts payable functions using SAP and SAP S/4HANA.

Audit vendor payments and reimbursement transactions for accuracy.

Verify accounting entries and reconcile system reports to account balances.

Research and resolve purchase order, invoice, contract, and payment discrepancies.

Process employee expense reimbursements.

Handle voided checks, returned checks, stop payments, and purchase order amendments.

Respond to vendor and internal email inquiries.

Analyze reports to improve departmental quality and productivity.

Assist with month-end and quarter-end closing deadlines.

Maintain knowledge of accounting principles, including expense accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, and balance sheet accounts.

Support Accounts Payable leadership with process improvement initiatives.

Perform additional accounting duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• 3–5 years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience.
• Experience processing invoices in a high-volume environment.
• Experience using SAP (SAP S/4HANA preferred).
• Understanding of the full accounting cycle.
• Knowledge of expense accounts, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and balance sheet accounts.
• Experience meeting month-end and quarter-end closing deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work onsite during training.
• Must be available for in-person interviews.

Education Requirements:

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
