Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for ICU Registered Nurses!

Job Description:


- Shift: 12-Hour Days
- Location Radius: 50 miles
- Position: ICU RN in a dynamic and challenging environment
- Unit Details:
- Number of Beds: 33 beds with an average daily census of 16
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults
- Common Patient Diagnoses: Trauma, cardiac cases, overdoses, adults with sepsis, post-stent patients, pacemaker placements, strokes, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress


- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS

- Key Responsibilities:
- Titrate drips for cardiac conditions, insulin, sedation, and other titratable medications
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, with Tele Tech oversight
- Collaborate with Nurse Aides for patient care, including 1:1 monitoring based on census needs

- Work Environment:
- Self-scheduling available for core staff, with travelers added into the schedule
- Floating opportunities available to PCU and occasionally MedSurg units with comparable patient ratios
- Minimum of 2 holidays required within the contract term; weekend work is every other weekend


- Orientation:
- 1 shift of unit-specific orientation provided

- Scheduling Details:
- 12-hour shifts from 0630-1830 or 1830-0630
- RTO needed upfront (7 days or fewer per 13-week contract)

- Cancellation Policy:
- Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment


- Charting System:
- EPIC


- Additional Information:
- No artificial nails are permitted in patient care areas; compliance is mandatory
- RN pass/fail exam during orientation (open book) with required score of 90% to continue
