Certified Medical Assistant, Business Associate

Perform direct clinical activities under the direction of the physician, Charge RN, or Manager Conduct patient intake, blood draws, pharmacy calls, EKGs, and physician-required tests Accurately document clinical information in the EMR according to licensure and VMG policies Maintain close working relationships with practice staff to support workflow, care, and treatment Greet and register patients, ensure insurance compliance, and collect payments Maintain the daily patient schedule and answer incoming calls Schedule appointments, process medication refills, and relay clinical or billing inquiries Coordinate with clinical staff regarding special needs and patient flow Support the practice and professional staff as directed by the Practice Manager Rotate to other VMG locations when necessary Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program recognized by the State of New Jersey Current and valid CMA or RMA certification recognized by the Board of Examiners, such as AMT, AAMA, or NCCT Completion of formal coursework in office management, database management, or business Six months of previous customer service, data entry, administrative, office management, or clerical experience required Previous MA experience in a clinic, physician's office, or outpatient setting preferred BCLS certification preferred upon hire and required subsequently Understanding of medical practice operations preferred Ability to use organizational and time management skills Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills Ability to establish cooperative working relationships and function effectively as part of a team Ability to handle urgent or emergent situations Ability to respect confidentiality of private healthcare, financial, and company information Ability to support patient/customer satisfaction initiatives Willingness and ability to rotate to other VMG locations when necessary Core Competencies Demonstrates proficiency in clinical activities, patient intake, and documentation within EMR systems while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
