Food Service Shift Lead## Department:University Hospital | Food Service Administration**Responsibilities:*** + Coordinate and direct daily operations in assigned areas. + Under supervision of the Nutrition Services Assistant/Associate Director, ensure timely service that meets standards. + Supervise, coordinate, and participate in activities of nutrition aides, sales assistants, and kitchen personnel. + Build partnerships with other departments. + Lead and train service staff in patient care and retail cafes. + Enforce quality standards. + Requisition food and food-related products. + Manage sanitation plan where applicable and assist with policy/procedure development. + Act as a frontline supervisor, supporting operations and optimizing labor efficiency. + Integrate functions within areas and across the department. **Minimum Education Required:*** Per Classified Civil Service specifications or equivalent combination of education and experience. **Minimum Education Required:*** Per Classified Civil Service specifications or equivalent combination of education and experience.**Required Qualifications:*** **Training and Experience:** + 600 hours of training in the operation of kitchen equipment (or 6 months of experience). + 600 hours of training in food preparation (or 6 months of experience). + 6 courses in supervision (or 6 months of experience). + 6 courses in food management (or 6 months of experience). + 1 course in budgeting (or 1 month of experience). + 1 course in bookkeeping (or 1 month of experience). + Or equivalent combination of education and experience.* **Preferred:** + 1-3 years of management experience.## Additional Information:## Location:University Hospital - Rhodes Hall (0354)## Position Type:Regular## Scheduled Hours:40## **Shift:**Varying Shifts***Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
