2nd Shift Quality Inspector

Overview Victaulic is a global leader in mechanical pipe joining innovations and is the world's leading producer of mechanical pipe joining solutions. The company has 13 manufacturing facilities and 28 branches worldwide with 4,400 employees who speak 43 languages across the globe. Responsibilities Perform AQL audit on production prior to processing to shipping (running final inspection station). Verify all information on tags (part #, piece counts, lot code). Verify associated paperwork with container – traceability with employee processing. Help train new employees on casting defects and assist with hot inspection items as needed (gathering parts from beginning and end of each job run). Perform AQL audit on product staged for scrap, assure no good castings are scrapped. Conduct scrap audits – mapping defect locations and cavity #. Provide feedback for scrap reduction. Control inventory of samples (location, part #, piece counts, lot code). Maintain scrap inventory log. Verify associated paperwork with container – sample routing. Provide representative examples of scrap issues for scrap meetings. Required Skills Safety and attendance. Knowledge of casting defect understanding and product acceptance criteria. Basic computer skills (edit and print sample packets, basic hand gauge usage). Good communication skills. Ability to use and understand basic hand gauges used to verify castings meet criteria. Fork truck license for scrap disposal in melt department scrap bay. Shift & Overtime Shift times are subject to change. Employees must be willing to work 10 hours in one shift. Refusal to work as needed is considered a voluntary quit. Employees must be willing and available to work overtime on an ongoing basis if needed. Refusal to work mandatory overtime is considered a voluntary quit. Overtime will be paid for all hours worked in excess of forty hours in any one week. Safety Requirements The noise level is such that earplugs must be worn at all times. Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times (hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel toe shoes). Safety equipment is provided by the company with exception of steel toe shoes, which must be provided by employee upon the first day of employment.
