Collections Representative

Collections Specialist *Schedule:* Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
*Training Schedule:* 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
*Work Arrangement:* On-site during training, then Hybrid (2-3 days on-site, remaining days remote based on performance)
*Overtime:* Available but not required

Position Overview As a Collections Specialist, you will manage a high-volume portfolio of business accounts, proactively contacting customers to collect outstanding balances, negotiate settlements, and resolve payment issues. The ideal candidate is resilient, self-motivated, and comfortable navigating challenging conversations while maintaining professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
* Make an average of *80+ outbound collection calls daily* to recover past-due balances.
* Manage a portfolio of approximately *200 to 600 accounts per week*.
* Handle inbound calls generated from collection email campaigns.
* Contact customers via phone and email regarding outstanding balances.
* Negotiate payment arrangements and settle accounts when appropriate.
* Document customer interactions and account activity within the CRM system and spreadsheets.
* Conduct account research and investigations to identify payment solutions.
* Generate and submit daily activity and collection reports.
* Maintain compliance with company policies and collection regulations.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum *2-3 years of First-Party Collections experience* with a strong emphasis on outbound calling.
* Working knowledge of collection laws and regulations, including the *FDCPA* and its purpose.
* Strong negotiation, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to persuade customers and successfully collect balances over the phone.
* Strong listening skills and the ability to navigate difficult conversations professionally.
* Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
* Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
* Ability to hardwire internet equipment when working remotely.
Preferred Qualifications
* Merchant services collections experience
* Business-to-business (B2B) collections experience
* Sales or negotiation experience
* Experience using Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.)
Work Environment & Flexibility
* Fully on-site for the first 1-2 months of training.
* Upon successful completion of training and achievement of attendance, quality, and performance expectations, employees may transition to a *hybrid schedule*:
* 2-3 days on-site
* Remaining days remote

* Candidates must be flexible to work the training schedule and rotating shifts during onboarding.

* Based on audited calls and performance reviews
