Heavy Equipment Operator – Trenching & Underground Utilities

We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to support commercial construction projects focused on underground utility installation. This role is ideal for operators with strong experience in  trenching, excavation, and pipe laying on active job sites.

• $30 – $35/hour (based on experience)
• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM start – end time based on project needs
• Overtime available

• Operate heavy equipment to perform:
  • Trenching for underground utilities
  • Excavation for water, sewer, and storm systems
  • Backfilling and grading around installed pipe
• Safely dig around existing utilities and structures
• Work in coordination with pipe layers and ground crew
• Perform rough and finish grading as needed
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Maintain a safe, clean, and productive job site
• Follow all company and OSHA safety regulations

• Experience operating heavy equipment on sitework or heavy civil projects
• Strong skill set in:
  • Excavation and trenching
  • Underground utility installation (water, sewer, storm)
• Ability to work safely around active job sites and underground utilities

• Excavator (required)
• Dozer
• Skid steer or loader
• Haul truck (preferred)

• OSHA 10 certification
• Ability to read site plans or grade stakes
• Experience on commercial construction projects

• Outdoor construction sites
• Exposure to weather, heavy equipment, and active job conditions
• Physically demanding work environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in York,PA.
