Requirements
- Active RN license valid in North Carolina
- Current BLS required
- Experience with medical telemetry monitoring and care of med-surg/telemetry patients
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR and bedside documentation workflows
- Ability to work required weekend schedule (must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
- CMSRN encouraged; BSN and charge/leadership experience preferred
- Ability to float to sister med-surge units as needed

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for telemetry/medical-surgical patients, including continuous cardiac monitoring and timely assessment of changes in condition
- Administer medications, coordinate patient care, and prepare patients for procedures (e.g., Endoscopy, IR, OR)
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient status in Cerner
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to maintain unit staffing ratios and support patient throughput
- Follow unit policies, dress code (navy blue/white scrubs), and hospital safety standards
- Participate in weekend coverage and float to designated sister units when required

A 13-week travel RN assignment in Asheville, NC on a 36-hour/week telemetry/medical-surgical unit. The role requires experienced telemetry nurses comfortable with continuous cardiac monitoring, Cerner documentation, and caring for a mixed acuity med-surg population. The unit uses remote telemetry monitoring, standard workstations on wheels, and VC150 equipment in patient rooms. Typical day staffing includes charge, multiple RNs, CNAs, and HUC support with day shift ratios around 1:5–6. This assignment requires weekend participation per the unit schedule and the flexibility to float to nearby med-surg units as needed. Certifications required include BLS; specialty certification (CMSRN) and BSN are preferred.
