Lead Multi-Modality Technologist

Job Description Summary The Multi-Modality Lead Tech reports to the CT Manager and assists with daily operations of the BBEMC radiology department. The role requires monitoring staff, prioritizing patient workload, and providing guidance and accountability across all modalities of CT and X-ray imaging. The technologist must effectively explain procedures to patients, ensure competency in each procedure, and produce high‑quality images for licensed practitioners. Responsibilities Assist the CT Manager with daily operations of the radiology department. Monitor radiology staff and prioritize patient workload. Provide guidance and accountability to team members. Function effectively in all areas of the department. Deliver quality imaging and patient care within CT and X‑ray modalities. Explain procedures to patients and confirm their competence. Produce images for interpretation or request of a licensed practitioner. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Minimum one year of radiologic experience. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in CT. Licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA). Produce high‑quality special imaging with minimal supervision. Function effectively within a team‑oriented environment. Familiar with age‑specific imaging criteria. CT certification required; CPR certified. Obtain Advanced Modality registration within one year of hire. Maintain American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent certification. Physical Requirements Perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors and outdoors, and from elevated and confined/cramped areas. Work from kneeling positions, bend at the waist, twist at the waist, squat, pinch, and perform gross motor activities with fingers and hands. Use both legs fully and lower extremities for balance and coordination; reach in all directions. Lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs unassisted; lift/lower 50 lbs from/to floor to 36 inches unassisted; lift from 36 inches to overhead 25 lbs; exert up to 50 lbs of force. Maintain 20/40 corrected vision in one or both eyes; recognize objects close at hand or at a distance; discriminate colors; determine distance/relationship between objects; maintain good peripheral vision. Maintain hearing acuity with correction; perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. Deal effectively with stressful situations. Work rotating shifts, overtime as required, in a latex‑safe environment, and a respirator‑qualified environment as selected positions. Maintain tactile sensory functions; good olfactory sensory function (selected positions). Be physically qualified for respirator use initially and as required.
