Job Description Job Description Job Title: Bilingual Medical Assistant Job Description This full-time Bilingual Medical Assistant role supports a busy physician practice in Rockwall, working Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position focuses on providing high-quality patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and performing a variety of administrative tasks to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations in a smaller, fast-paced office setting. Responsibilities Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms in a timely and courteous manner. Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and any medication changes. Obtain all necessary patient records and documentation required by the physician before treatments or procedures. Prepare and stock exam and treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment, and reorder supplies as needed. Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested, including standing by and taking notes while the physician performs duties. Maintain and follow all exam and treatment room disinfection and cleaning protocols to support a safe and sanitary environment. Answer patient telephone calls and route them appropriately to the physician, nurse, or pharmacist. Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and registered nurses. Inform the physician of patient reschedules and no-shows in a timely manner. Perform administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception tasks as requested by the supervisor or physician. Support front office workflows as needed to help maintain an efficient patient flow throughout the day. Essential Skills Experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical or physician office setting. Ability to communicate effectively in more than one language (bilingual). Proficiency in taking and documenting vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes. Skill in assisting physicians during exams and procedures, including accurate note-taking. Strong organizational skills to prepare, stock, and maintain exam and treatment rooms. Ability to follow and maintain strict disinfection and infection control protocols. Competence in handling patient phone calls and routing messages appropriately. Basic administrative and clerical skills, including typing, filing, faxing, and chart preparation. Familiarity with or ability to learn the Athena electronic medical record (EMR) system. Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced medical office environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred. Non-certified Medical Assistants with previous relevant experience will be considered. Experience using Athena or similar electronic health record systems is an advantage. Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-focused approach to care. Ability to collaborate with front office staff, surgery schedulers, and physicians in a smaller office setting. Work Environment The role is based in a busy, smaller physician office in Rockwall that includes front office staff, medical assistants, a surgery scheduler, and one or more physicians. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with work centered around exam rooms, treatment rooms, and physician offices. The environment is fast-paced and patient-focused, requiring frequent interaction with patients in person and by phone. You will use clinical equipment to obtain vital signs and other patient data, and you will work with electronic medical records, including the Athena system. The position requires being on your feet to escort patients and assist during exams, as well as time at a workstation for documentation and administrative tasks. Professional clinical attire appropriate for a medical office is expected. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockwall, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
