A manufacturer of welded, machined, and formed metal products in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives, drive root cause analysis, and support new product introductions across the site. This role partners with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to improve processes, maintain ISO 9001 standards, and lead advanced product quality planning activities, ensuring inspection and test plans are defined, implemented, and sustained in the manufacturing environment.

Compensation
$80,000 - $100,000 Per Year, plus bonus.

What You'll Do
In this role, you will lead advanced product quality planning (APQP) activities, developing control plans, PFMEAs, and quality plans for legacy and new products, and you will manage product and process qualifications, including CPK studies and Gage R&R. You will monitor rejects and corrective action report (CAR) performance and trends, leading advanced quality methods such as DMAIC, 8D, mistake-proofing, and process control across the organization, and you will drive advanced root cause investigations. You will oversee QMS certification compliance, manage the audit schedule, standardize tools and processes, and lead KATA coaching and value stream mapping, as well as global quality initiatives and design-for-quality assignments. You will handle escalations from quality engineers, sales, and other functions, supervise and prioritize the workload of direct reports, train the quality team in fundamental quality tools, and mentor engineers, conducting development reviews and encouraging skill growth.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, and 4+ years of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2+ years as a Certified Quality Engineer
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, weldments, assemblies, and fabrication
• Mechanical aptitude to assemble and disassemble components per engineering drawings
• Proficiency in engineering drawing interpretation and GD&T
• Proficiency in failure analysis and root cause investigation methods (5 Whys, Fishbone, Fault Tree)
• Strong experience with Corrective Actions, 8Ds, MRBs, and Rapid Response activities
• Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plan development
• Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of practical experience in APQP
• Experience with statistical and data analysis tools such as Minitab, SAS JMP, Excel macros, or Power BI
