Job Description
Title
Travel RN - Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule
Every other weekend required.

Assignment Details
Guaranteed hours: 48 hours approved.

Requirements
- Compact license must be in hand at submission.
- Required certifications: BLS.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred.
- Travel experience required.
- Must have a vehicle for this assignment.
- Core clinical skills:
- Telemetry / cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
- IV starts/maintenance, peripheral IV/PICC/central line care.
- Management of HFNC, non-invasive airway, tracheostomy care.
- Insulin/IV protocols, PCA, blood product administration, vasoactive/cardiac drips (no titration).
- Feeding tube care, ostomy care, wound care / Wound VAC.
- Phlebotomy, suctioning, surgical drain care, renal failure care.
- Use of Rapid Response / Code teams, early mobilization.
- Special requirements: insulin administration experience; colostomy/ileostomy management; bowel obstruction patient care.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in the Medical-Surgical / Telemetry unit.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, execute care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while ensuring safety protocols.
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with the care team and family members.

Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: Reduced Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) - 0 hours.
- Travelers' refusal to float may result in termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours.
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE, New Year's Day).
- Can only submit to one facility at a time.
