About the Role

The Company is seeking an Interim CFO with a strong background in the heavy construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and overseeing various accounting functions such as POC, WIP, job costing, and project accounting. This role also involves reviewing project financial performance, strengthening accounting processes, and supporting audit requirements to ensure compliance with GAAP. The CFO will be expected to assess and improve existing accounting processes, particularly in the areas of financial reporting, controls, and overall accounting cadence. Hands-on leadership and the ability to work through legacy systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency are essential. Applicants for the Interim CFO position at the company should have extensive and recent experience in the construction industry, with a focus on heavy POC and WIP accounting. Strong project and job accounting, as well as month-end close and financial reporting experience, are required. The role demands a leader who can operate effectively at both the Controller and CFO levels, and who is adept at building strong relationships across finance and operations. The ideal candidate will have a CPA and/or MBA, and significant accounting and finance leadership experience within the construction industry. Deep expertise in POC and WIP accounting is a must, as is a proven track record of improving accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are also essential for this position.
