Senior Environmental Project Manager

Position The position involves a flexible combination of remote, office, and field work in a small but proven environmental consulting office in the Tampa Bay area. The field work will include wetland delineations, and wildlife and other natural resource surveys. Office work will include client and project management and coordination, synthesis of data, preparation of comprehensive reports or permit applications. Education B. S. degree (required) in relevant natural sciences (e.g., ecology, biology, botany, or similar acceptable field). M.S. preferred. Experience Ten to fifteen years of relevant, Florida-based, experience; recent consulting experience preferred. Regulatory agency experience a plus. Technical Expertise Project management and direct client management experience Demonstrable knowledge of Florida ecosystems Demonstrable knowledge of Florida plant identification (emphasis on wetland plants) Experience conducting state (Florida) and federal wetlands jurisdictional delineations Experience conducting wetland functional assessments (UMAM) Demonstrable knowledge of state (Florida) and federal environmental regulations and ability to prepare and manage permitting processes Good technical writing, communication and analysis skills General Duties Function as a senior ecologist and project manager on diverse projects; develop and utilize individual expertise to accomplish tasks including literature and internet research; data preparation and management; technical writing, report composition and production; conduct independent biological and botanical fieldwork using standard methods. Ability to plan and execute effectively ecological assessment tasks including: wetlands jurisdictional delineations in coastal and freshwater ecosystems, provide habitat characterizations and qualitative assessment (UMAM), and conduct threatened and endangered species literature and field reviews.
