UNIV-Full-time Faculty, Tenure Track, DNP Program, Family Nurse Practitioner - College of Nursing
The MUSC College of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Graduate Practice Program (GPP), with a focus on the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) track. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated FNP to join a collaborative academic community committed to preparing the next generation of advanced practice nurses. The successful candidate will contribute to the College's teaching mission through didactic, clinical, and student-centered instruction in the MSN and DNP programs. This position is ideal for an FNP who is passionate about primary care, graduate nursing education, innovation in teaching, and supporting students as they grow into confident, practice-ready nurse practitioners. The faculty member will also maintain clinical practice as an FNP as part of the faculty role. Upon hire, the successful candidate is expected to relocate to the Charleston, South Carolina area.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have an earned master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner and be eligible for South Carolina APRN licensure. Applicants must hold current national certification as an FNP and have at least two years of APRN practice experience in primary care or a related setting. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, along with a commitment to student success, professional collaboration, and excellence in advanced practice nursing education.
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network is required.
MSN-prepared candidates must enroll in a doctoral program or begin a DNP or PhD program within the first two years of employment.
Preferred qualifications: The preferred candidate will have an earned DNP or doctoral degree in nursing or a related field, current national board certification as an FNP, and evidence of commitment to professional scholarship.
Prior teaching experience, including precepting APRN students, is highly valued. Experience with or interest in competency-based education, case-based learning, problem-based learning, and student-centered teaching is also preferred. Experience with graduate online teaching methods is desirable; however, motivated candidates who are new to formal teaching but meet the educational, certification, and practice requirements are encouraged to apply.
