Leasing Consultant

Job Title: Leasing Consultant Salary: $20 to $22 per hour. A 20% housing discount is available! Schedule: Friday‑Tuesday About the Leasing Consultant Position We’re looking for a talented leasing consultant responsible for coordinating all activities related to apartment rentals, move‑ins, move‑outs, and lease renewals. The role includes interacting directly with prospective and current residents to maximize occupancy, ensure resident retention, and provide client satisfaction. Focus on the needs of others by listening, understanding, and showing empathy and respect. Ensure excellent customer service to prospective and current residents, promoting a quality living experience. Generate and handle traffic, qualify prospective residents, lease apartments, prepare lease documentation, and complete move‑in paperwork. Ensure model apartments are in touring condition. Orient prospective and current residents to the property and process renewal paperwork. Maintain accurate and detailed records of traffic activity by entering applicable information into the computer. Follow up with all prospective residents via phone, mail or email. Convert phone traffic into scheduled appointments for property tours. Inspect apartments prior to resident move‑ins and ensure move‑in condition by coordinating schedules with maintenance. Create and maintain confidential resident files, reviewing move‑in paperwork with new residents. Complete weekly leasing reports accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure all open and close procedures are completed daily. Assist with ongoing resident relations, responding promptly to resident requests. Shop for competitive properties. Inspect buildings and grounds for safety and cleanliness, alerting maintenance to required repairs. Assist with processing work order requests for residents and ensure timely completion. Support management with clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, and processing property invoices. Assist with planning and implementing resident activities to increase retention. Comply with all company policies, health and safety rules, and applicable local, state, and federal laws. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High school diploma required. Minimum of one year of previous sales experience preferred. Minimum of one year of previous residential leasing experience preferred. Skills and Requirements Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Prior experience in Yardi Voyager or a similar system preferred. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Effective and sensitive communication with all levels of management. Sensitivity to confidential matters required. Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment with urgency. Ability to relay technical concerns with precision. Proficiency in reading, writing, comprehending, and conversing in English. Experience using general office equipment (telephone, fax, printer, copier, key‑track system). Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to manage difficult or angry situations. Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance required.
