Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector with experience in aerospace manufacturing and AS9100 quality standards. The Quality Control Inspector will inspect aerospace components, machined parts, and assemblies to ensure they meet engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards.

The ideal candidate has experience using precision measuring instruments, reading blueprints, documenting inspection results, and identifying nonconforming materials or products in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect aerospace components, machined parts, and assemblies to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured products.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and engineering specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and other inspection equipment.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, workmanship, and product conformity against established acceptance criteria.
• Follow AS9100 quality management system requirements and applicable inspection procedures.
• Complete inspection reports, checklists, nonconformance reports, and other quality documentation accurately.
• Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials or products and assist with corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure traceability of parts, materials, and inspection results.
• Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues and prevent defects.
• Follow company procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and customer-specific quality standards.
• Maintain calibration awareness and ensure inspection equipment is suitable for use.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Quality Control Inspector in aerospace, precision machining, or a similar manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of AS9100 quality management system requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify dimensional and workmanship defects.
• Experience completing inspection reports and maintaining quality documentation.
• Basic computer skills for entering inspection data and maintaining records.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an AS9100-certified aerospace manufacturing facility.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management principles.
• Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 requirements.
• Experience with nonconformance reports (NCRs), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and root cause analysis.
• Experience inspecting CNC-machined components, sheet metal parts, or aerospace assemblies.
• Familiarity with inspection plans, material certifications, and product traceability.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Work in a manufacturing or aerospace production environment.
• Stand, walk, bend, and use inspection equipment throughout the shift.
• Frequently handle small components and inspection tools.
• Lift materials or components as required by the position.
• Follow all required safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
