Overview

Join a dynamic advanced life support ambulance team serving a busy metropolitan area in the Southeastern United States. This role involves providing emergency, non-emergency, convalescent, and long-distance patient care and transportation, operating under state certification and local medical control.

Responsibilities

Perform patient care and transport duties up to the EMT-P certification level. Accurately document patient care records, including billing information and signatures. Work collaboratively under supervision of shift supervisors and training officers. Participate in rescue operations individually or with assigned crews. Maintain knowledge of emergency medical procedures, rescue techniques, hazardous materials response, and communications equipment. Navigate regional locations, including major streets, landmarks, and healthcare facilities, within six months of employment. Operate ambulance vehicles safely and effectively, including emergency driving. Lift and move patients and equipment regularly, with the ability to handle weights up to 150 pounds.

Education and Certifications

Must hold a valid North Carolina Paramedic license (NC Office of Emergency Medical Services). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association is required and may be renewed during orientation. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications must be obtained within six months of hire. Completion of NIMS 100, 200, and 700 courses is mandatory. All certifications must be maintained continuously.

Experience

At least one year of field EMS, rescue, or related experience preferred. Experience with advanced life support services is highly desirable.

Requirements

Valid North Carolina driver's license with a clean driving record and a minimum of three years licensed driving experience. Ability to work calmly under stressful conditions and maintain professionalism with patients, families, and colleagues. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with emergency and healthcare personnel. Physical ability to lift heavy objects and maneuver in confined spaces. Hearing, speaking, and visual acuity necessary for emergency vehicle operation and patient care.
