Product Owner
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to support an Application Security (AppSec) delivery group. This role is responsible for translating high-level strategy into executable product features and ensuring successful delivery. The Product Owner will partner closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to drive outcomes across the assigned group, overseeing the strategy, vision, and roadmap for application security across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate enterprise AppSec vision, strategy, and roadmap into actionable deliverables.
- Align delivery outcomes with leadership-defined goals and priorities.
- Own and manage product features within the assigned delivery group.
- Define timelines and manage delivery using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Break down initiatives into epics, features, and user stories for planning.
- Maintain ownership of the product backlog and control prioritization based on business value and risk.
- Partner closely with engineering teams to ensure successful feature delivery.
- Focus on vulnerability management, code scanning, and ensuring secure development practices.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience as a Product Owner within a product operating model is required. A strong background in Application Security (AppSec) is required. Candidates should have 5+ years of Digital Product Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work or consulting experience, training, or military experience.
Technical Skills: Experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks is necessary. Familiarity with Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA), and vulnerability scanning tools is expected.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in AppSec engineering with a transition into product ownership.
- Experience in large, complex enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks and standards.
- Experience with document migration, system integration projects, and metadata mapping.
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
