Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
• Conduct hearing and vision screenings to support comprehensive pediatric assessments.
• Prepare patients for examinations by recording medical histories, medication usage, and allergies.
• Set up and assist with procedures such as nebulizer treatments, immunizations, and suture removal.
• Collect and label specimens, including throat swabs, urine samples, and perform venipuncture as needed.
• Perform point-of-care testing like blood glucose via glucometer.
• Manage office duties such as handling pharmacy calls, medication refills, and telephone triage.
• Administer TB tests, follow up with patients, and assist in rooming patients to ensure smooth clinic flow.
• Support clinic operations through accurate charting, preferably using electronic medical records (EPIC experience is a plus).

Required Skills

• Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) with at least 1 year of experience in an outpatient pediatric or adult clinical setting.
• Proficiency in vital sign measurement, specimen collection, and basic procedures such as injections and suture removal.
• Excellent communication skills for patient interaction, documentation, and telephone triage.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain a high level of accuracy in documentation.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with pediatric populations or familiarity working in a pediatric clinic environment.
• EPIC or other electronic health record system experience.
• Additional certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).

Preferred Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; Certified Medical Assistant credential required.
• Minimum of 1 year of direct clinical experience in a pediatric outpatient setting.

Other Requirements

• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week, from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Off Wednesdays and weekends.
• Location: This position is in a local outpatient pediatric clinic within a 50-mile radius. Candidates must provide proof of residency within this area.
• Must have reliable transportation; no travel or floating between units required.
• Certifications: Active and valid WA state or compact license. BLS/PALS certification preferred.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, perform procedures, and handle specimen collection.
• Additional onboarding requirements must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance.
