Team Leader

Reports To: Director of Settlements and Accounts Payable Location: Southfield HQ Own the Close. Lead with Precision. Deliver with Confidence. As our Settlements Team Leader, you’ll be the person who makes sure that promise is delivered flawlessly. This is where leadership meets meticulous execution. You’ll lead a fast-paced, high-impact team responsible for cutting checks, calming concerns, and closing the loop with clarity. You’ll Own Lead the Line — manage the daily operations of the Settlements Team and handle escalations from Pods with confidence. Finalize the Finish Line — generate accurate client settlement statements for both pre-suit and litigation cases. Execute the Payout — process and disburse settlement funds to clients and providers, ensuring full and final payments are correct and timely. Track & Support — receive, process, and log provider checks; track settlement amounts for Pods. Client-Facing & Vendor-Savvy — resolve financial concerns with professionalism and a service-first approach. Know Your Numbers — generate reports and scorecards that keep leadership informed and teams accountable. Bank It Right — create and deposit checks using our electronic system. W-9 Management — request and track W-9s from every vendor and medical provider we touch. You Bring Leadership presence — you guide, mentor, and inspire your team with calm confidence. Financial precision — numbers don’t get past you; accuracy is second nature. Tech confidence — Hantz, Excel, digital deposits — it’s all in your toolkit. Client empathy + operational strength — you balance relationships with results. Time mastery — manage tasks and priorities with sharp efficiency, even under pressure. You’ll supervise Settlement Specialists 1 & 2, setting the pace and the standard. This is a full-time role, Monday–Friday. Expect occasional overtime during peak periods. Required: use 1 full week of earned PTO consecutively each year to refresh and recharge. What You Need Associate’s Degree or 1–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or legal operations. Legal or settlement experience? Huge plus. Detail-focused, ethical, reliable, and ready to lead from day one. Your Impact This is the final step in the client journey.
