Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Intermediate Care position requiring WI or compact RN license and ventilator/transplant experience.

Details

• Work across two IMC units: D6/5 Acute Med/Progressive Care and B4/3 Thoracic
• Shift rotates between night (7:00pm-7:30am) and day/evening (7:00am-7:30pm), Monday through Friday
• Every other weekend and some holidays required
• Floating required as needed across units
• Uses Epic charting system
• Cardiac telemetry, oncology, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown patient population

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification through AHA only required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty required
• Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Ventilator and transplant patient experience required
• Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, arterial line management, blood product administration, and PICC line management
• Respiratory skills required including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, ABG interpretation, and oxygen administration
• Cardiac monitoring skills required including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and rapid response team use
• Additional skills required include wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, insulin drip titration, and pre/post cardiac cath and surgery care
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting the assignment

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• References are not required for consideration
• Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available including bus and park & ride
• Telemetry exam includes both adult and pediatric components with strict passing criteria and limited attempts allowed
