The Position As a Payroll Compliance Expert, you are the trusted regulatory advisor for your country or region, helping Remote design, build, and operate compliant payroll products at scale. You will serve as the subject matter expert for payroll legislation, tax, social security, labour, and employment requirements within your assigned jurisdictions. Your expertise will influence product design, operational processes, customer solutions, market expansion, and compliance strategy across the business. As part of Remote's Payroll Compliance Advisory Centre of Excellence, you will work across Product, Engineering, Operations, Customer Experience, Legal, and Risk teams to ensure compliance is embedded into everything we build and deliver. Success in this role requires a unique combination of regulatory expertise, systems thinking, stakeholder management, and commercial awareness. You will not simply interpret legislation—you will help translate complex regulatory requirements into scalable products, processes, controls, and customer experiences. General Requirements Serve as the Compliance Authority for Your Region Act as the primary payroll compliance expert for your assigned countries or region. Interpret payroll, tax, social security, labour, and employment legislation. Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on products, processes, and customers. Provide clear, practical, and commercially balanced compliance guidance. Partner with Product Teams to Build Compliant Solutions Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to ensure compliance is embedded into product development. Translate legislative requirements into clear business and product requirements. Review product designs and proposed solutions to identify compliance risks and opportunities. Validate system logic, calculations, workflows, and outputs against regulatory requirements. Support product launches and go-live activities.
