Essential Job Duties

As a Product Designer (UX Designer) at BambooHR, you will help design the behavior and visual UI of new product features while improving the usability and design of existing products. You will gain insight into our users' behaviors and needs through research and help identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation. In short, we'll look to you to help create products that people love to use.

You will:

• Define, test, and iterate on interaction designs for new and existing features, including user flows, detailed wireframes, and prototypes
• Contribute to AI-assisted or AI-powered experiences where appropriate
• Participate in user research, including contextual inquiry, usability testing, and competitive analysis, and apply findings to your design decisions
• Create intuitive and delightful experiences that address customer needs and support product goals
• Design polished visual UI that adheres to our design system and established standards
• Use and experiment with AI tools to support research, discovery, ideation, prototyping, and usability testing
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other designers to deliver high-quality implementations
• Seek feedback, communicate progress, and increase your ownership and independence as you grow

What You Need to Get the Job Done

A Product Designer at BambooHR is a hands-on role for someone developing their strategic skills while taking ownership of clearly defined product work. You'll work closely with experienced designers and cross-functional partners, seeking feedback and increasing your independence as you grow.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has 2+ years of product design experience working on desktop, web, or mobile software—or equivalent experience demonstrated through a strong portfolio
• Has experience contributing to SaaS products or features across multiple stages of the design process, from research and discovery through design, launch, and iteration
• Can turn defined customer and business problems into thoughtful user flows, prototypes, and polished interfaces
• Has a portfolio demonstrating strong foundations in user research, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, usability testing, and visual UI design
• Can work effectively within established design systems and patterns while recognizing opportunities for improvement
• Is curious about AI and willing to develop new tools, methods, and skills as the design practice evolves

• Your design skills through an in-depth portfolio review of relevant product design work
• Your role, decisions, and contributions within the projects in your portfolio
• How you collaborate with product managers, designers, developers, and other partners
• How you seek, receive, and apply feedback to improve your work
• How you keep assigned work progressing despite setbacks or changing requirements
• Your experience presenting ideas and designs to coworkers or customers
• How you interpret user research and apply findings to design decisions
• How you prioritize your work, maintain commitments, and manage your time
• How you have used or experimented with AI tools in your design process
• How you would approach designing and validating an AI-assisted experience that creates meaningful value for customers
