Production Supervisor

Description Production Supervisor Reports To: Operations Manager Location: On-Site Manufacturing Facility Status: Full-Time, Exempt Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced, made-to-order production environment. This role is responsible for supervising machinists, welders, and operators while driving safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with machining experience, strong employee management skills, and a passion for continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, and delivery objectives are achieved. Manage and develop machinists, welders, and operators through coaching, training, performance management, and employee engagement. Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements. Monitor production schedules, staffing levels, attendance, and workflow to maximize efficiency and meet customer commitments. Partner with Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Shipping, and other departments to resolve production issues and improve performance. Support quality initiatives, nonconformance investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts. Drive accountability and maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and work instructions. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize manufacturing processes. Manage production tooling, equipment utilization, and related resources. Requirements Required 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Experience leading teams of 15 or more employees. Minimum 3 years of machining experience, preferably in a CNC machining environment. Working knowledge of CNC machining processes, mill/turn equipment, and manufacturing operations. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience using ERP and timekeeping systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Knowledge of CNC programming and CAM software. Work Experience Required: 5 years of experience as a Production Supervisor in a made-to-order manufacturing environment (with degree) or 10 years of experience (without degree), directly managing at least 15 employees. 3 years of experience in a machining environment Physical Requirements This position requires regular walking throughout a manufacturing facility, occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds, and the ability to work in both office and production environments.
