Details Med/Surg Neuro unit within a hospital setting Care for patients with mild to severe brain injury resulting from stroke, trauma, or surgery Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week 6 weekend shifts required per scheduling period Holiday coverage required on a per-unit rotation basis Utilizes Epic EMR for charting Requirements Active Illinois RN license required (temporary license accepted) Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) ASN required, BSN preferred Level 1 Trauma center experience required Epic EMR charting experience required Demonstrated skills in neurological care, seizure response, medication administration, documentation, safety compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration Additional Information Provide comprehensive nursing care including patient assessments, care planning, medication administration, and patient education Identify and respond immediately to neurological changes and seizure activity Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by health care technicians Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, isolation precautions, and pressure ulcer prevention Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated, safe patient care Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position RTO limited to no more than 7 total days during the 13-week contract Assignment length limited to 1 year at this health system, requiring a 6-month break in service before returning American Traveler Job ID P-748815.
