Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing all mechanical and electrical repairs on tubing mill equipment. This role requires responding promptly to repairs and breakdowns, troubleshooting PLCs, motors, sensors, relays, and hydraulic systems. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical motors, air compressors, fans, and pumps, as well as fabricate, assemble, and test various parts. Additional duties may include general building maintenance tasks such as painting and plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs for tubing mill equipment.
• Respond to equipment repairs and breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, motors, sensors, relays, and hydraulic systems.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical motors, air compressors, fans, and pumps.
• Fabricate, assemble, and test parts such as pumps, valves, heaters, compressors, and fire equipment.
• Utilize CMMS for work orders and ordering parts.
• Complete additional tasks including painting, plumbing, and general maintenance.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Expertise in PLC troubleshooting, electrical systems, and repair.
• Proficiency in hydraulic systems and pump maintenance.
• Ability to perform welding, including MIG welding.
• Familiarity with cranes and plumbing maintenance.
• Experience with 3-phase electrical systems.
• Knowledge of electric motors, generators, pumps, and pressure systems.
• Understanding of occupational hazards and safety practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
• Experience in maintaining records related to materials, equipment, and repairs.
• Capability to train and guide other maintenance mechanics.
• Competence in determining work priorities and assigning tasks.

Work Environment

The work environment is industrial, located in a dark tube mill with no windows, where conditions can be dirty and greasy. Employees are required to wear metatarsals, hard hats, glasses, long-sleeved shirts, and gloves. The team operates across 1st and 2nd shifts, with maintenance technicians working in pairs.

This is a Permanent position based out of Gary, IN.

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $79040.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Gary,IN.
